Oct 04, 2023Oct 04, 2023

CORAL SPRINGS, FLA -- Stella Jelinek of Flagler College was selected to the Women's Golf Coaches Association Division II All-America second-team, while North Georgia's Madeline Ananthasane was named honorable mention.Jelinek is the program's first All-America selection."I am very proud of Mauro earning All-America honors," said Santiago Cavanagh, Flagler's director of golf. "She has been extremely consistent all year. Stella is an amazing player, student, teammate, and person."The Leimen, Germany native earned WGCA All-South Region honors last month. Jelinek was the PBC's Player and Freshman of the Year and took home first-team all-conference honors. She broke the program record for best scoring average in a season (74.26) and her won-lost percentage (.858) was second in the program's history. Jelinek finished the season ranked No. 9 by Golfstat and had peaked at No. 2 earlier this spring. She had seven top five finishes this year and won one tournament. Jelinek was the PBC Golfer of the Week on four different occasions.

Ananthasane earns her third All-America honor after being named second team in 2021 and 2022. She has been a staple in the Nighthawks lineup in her three seasons at North Georgia, qualifying for the NCAA South Region all three years while earning one of the national individual qualifier spots in 2021.

"I am so proud of Maddie for another great accolade in her career," said head coach Sierra Campbell. "Being an All-American once is an absolute accomplishment and requires tremendous hard work, so to be named one three times in three years while also being in nursing school is incredible. To say I am proud of and honored to coach Maddie would be an understatement. Another great feather in the cap for one of the best to ever play at North Georgia."The Junior from Dacula, Ga., led the Peach Belt Conference in scoring average, shooting an average score of 74.2 this season. Ananthasane is the second Nighthawk to earn an All-America honor and the first to receive three in her career, passing former UNG golfer Megan Sabol who earned two career selections in 2020 and 2021.WGCA Division II All-America TeamsFirst TeamAmelie Alcantara, Eckerd CollegeTove Brunell, University of Missouri-St. LouisAlyssa Campbell, West Texas A&M UniversitySara Ericsson, Lynn UniversityJulia Garcia, Dallas Baptist UniversityOlivia Grønborg, Nova Southeastern UniversityKatharina Hesse, Rollins CollegeMaria Hoyos, Lynn UniversityJordan Karrh, Dallas Baptist UniversityAlli Kim, Point Loma Nazarene UniversityOlivia Mitchell, Dallas Baptist UniversityMary Kelly Mulcahy, University of FindlaySupuschaya Srichantamit, Lee UniversityElyse Stasil, University of Indianapolis Second TeamEllen Andersson, Nova Southeastern UniversityGracen Blount, Henderson State UniversityJinna Boonbumroongsuk, Henderson State UniversityStella Jelinek, Flagler CollegeAna Maria Jimenez Rios, University of TampaDrishti Karumbaya, California State University, East BayRosie Klausner, University of Central MissouriHailey McLaughlin, Wingate UniversityMadison Murr, California State University, San MarcosJessica Rathbone, Anderson UniversityJill Schmitmeyer, University of FindlayGam Songprasert, West Texas A&M UniversityGabby Woods, University of Findlay Honorable MentionMadeline Ananthasane, University of North GeorigaPaulo Baudino, Grand Valley State UniversityAllie Bianchi, Henderson State UniversityRylie Cook, West Texas A&M UniversityAinsley Cowart, University of West GeorgiaFaith DeLaGarza, Dallas Baptist UniversityAnci Dy, University of IndianapolisCatharina Graf, University of IndianapolisJulika Grosspietch, California State University, East BayBreann Horn, California State University, San MarcosZoey Iglesias, Anderson UniversityCamila Madriaga, Lynn UniversityKennedy McGaha, Anderson UniversityLorenza Perini, West Texas A&M UniversityIsabelle Schlick, Lynn UniversityLisa Marie Schumacher, Tiffin UniversityBrady Turnquist, Biola UniversityWilma Zandreau, University of Missouri-St. Louis
