Women's Track Athlete of the Week: Uekyvia Beckwith, Embry-Riddle
Beckwith ran back-to-back personal bests in the 800 in her two meets following the PBC Championships. The graduate student from Orlando, Fla., ran a 2:04.84 in the UNF East Coast Relays, finishing fourth of 71 competitors, most of which were Division I runners. She then won the 800 at the Lee Last Chance with a time of 2:04.59. That is a new Peach Belt Conference record and the fastest 800 run in NCAA Division II this season. She also anchored the 4x400 relay team which won at the Lee Last Chance in a school-record time of 3:44.77 which is also an NCAA Provisional Qualifying time.
Women's Field Athlete of the Week: Mikaela Miles, Embry-Riddle
Miles improved upon her personal best in the triple jump with a leap of 12.14m at the UNF East Coast Relays, setting an NCAA provisional mark. The freshman from San Diego, Calif., followed that up by winning the triple jump at the PURE Athletics Spring Elite Meet with a jump of 11.97m. Her distance at the UNF event is the longest triple jump in the conference by nearly a full meter and 29th-longest in NCAA Division II this season.For a complete list of women's track & field weekly award winners, please click here.
